Wooden or plastic wedges are the traditional way of fixing windows when installing them. Some of the drawbacks are a risk of scratching on the window frame and the wall, difficulties in adjusting the window’s position, that the job is time consuming and that it generally takes more than one person to install a large window. There is now a new product available as an alternative to these wedges. It is an airbag made from fibre reinforced rubber, that is simply placed between the windowframe and the wall, and is then inflated.
